everyone on the east coast was going mad about wishing for a snow day today. the weather predicted 1-4 inches of snow in philly. where i am from... that's not cause to close school/delay school start time or to miss work. but, in philly, anything could happen.
this morning i called the work hotline for inclement weather and the message told me that we would open clinic at 10:30 a.m.
i assumed that the road were perhaps pretty icy.
but just to make sure i wasn't dreaming, i called the number again to double check that i could come into work late.
elated, i went back to sleep thinking i could rest another hour or so.
at 9 a.m. coworkers called me to see where i was. that there was a mistake on the hotline - the wrong message was posted. and that there was only an inch of snow.
oops.
the worst way to wake up! (when coworkers call to say, "WHERE ARE YOU?!!!".... reminds me of church meetings on a saturday morning...)
anyway. made it to work finally and everyone had a good laugh about it (at my expense), except for the patients who were a little puzzled why they had to wait so long to get their teeth worked on.
lesson learned that i should look out the window before going back to sleep.

hahahaha i remember those saturday mornings too. it was another work day in the week! hahaha.
