-saw N today. she came with a translator for bahasa indonesia this time. it's great the esperanza sent me to learn spanish. because it's so much more draining to do this job via translators.
anyway, it was cool coz her translator, H, is a nurse by training. but she feels gypped that she's been without a nursing job for several months, because it seems like all nursing schools and advocates promise a huge shortage of nurses resulting in a plethora of jobs from which to choose.

-at home mtg tonight (small group) one of the women was telling me how she also feels gypped by the nursing school for these unfulfilled promises of job location/specialty choice. two isolated comments in one day!

-was reiterating monday's shooting with calvin and talking about how S had to identify the shooters in front of their faces. unfortunately the system of witness protection in the hood is not very there. "snitches get stitches!" i laughed when i heard that mantra. but it's really not funny.

-6 inches of snow and philadelphia public schools call a snow day. wusses!

-i haven't cleaned this much snow off my car since michigan (since i parked in a covered garage last winter). it was kinda nice and made me thankful that i grew up with this type of weather. it's somehow made me tougher (the cold and ice). even though i'm a wuss in the extreme heat.
